History
Originally built in 1942 as the Clear Springs Auxiliary Field. The
City of New Braunfels acquired ownership of the Municipal Airport
from the U.S. government in 1969. The airport has two active runways
and is located four miles east of downtown New Braunfels. It can be
reached off of IH 35 by taking State Highway 46 towards Seguin and
taking a left on FM 758.
Location
The New Braunfels Municipal Airport is located 4 miles east of New
Braunfels in Comal County, Texas. New Braunfels is a town of roughly
40,000 people, while Comal County has about 80,000 people.

Directions to the airport
- At Exit 189 on IH 35
- Take Texas State Highway 46 east out of New Braunfels for
about 3 miles.
- Leave Highway 46 on FM 758 (at Clear Springs).
- Go for about 2.5 miles to the NOAA Weather Station.
- Turn left onto Airport Road in front of the Weather Station
& go about 1/3 mile.
- Turn left on Entrance Drive (marked by several mail boxes)
for about 300 feet
- For those of you with GPS systems: the airport is located at
29° 14' 12.200" N Latitude, 98° 2' 32.000" W Longitude.
